04/29 - If I did a WHO'S WHO review on this place I would rate Gebby's as BEST OF THE BEST BREAKFAST in Peoria, Illinois. Friendly, clean, and welcoming to anyone. Come as you are and EAT.GREAT FOOD. Get to Gebby's early because the restaurant gets busy. Sit at the counter and watch the dance between the waitresses and the chef.

Friendly staff & good food. Usually a wait depending on what time you go, but dont have to wait too long. "Good things are worth waiting for sometimes."

Gebbys is a fantastic family restaurant. Always love coming here for breakfast when in town. The menu is a solid breakfast menu and the price is outstanding.Highly recommend coming here but be prepared for a wait; everyone loves this place

The food and waitress was great. I like Oatmeal for breakfast. Oatmeal, toast, bacon with coffee is way to expensive there. $12 buck.I can get the same breakfast at a local diner in East Peoria for under $5. Sorry I won't be back.

Free coffee while you wait. Friendly service. Good food. The wait is a little long, especially with hungry kids. But overall good experience.

Great little diner. Wife and I had a bit of time to kill and she wanted coffee. We looked online and found this place nearby. Ended up eating lunch and really enjoyed it. Food was fresh and service was very good. Most people there seemed to be regulars but we felt welcome and everyone was nice. Price a bit higher than fast food in case you're wondering about that.

As always the service was top notch! No one works harder or faster than the Gebby girls. We waited a little time for a table, but our delicious food was there in the blink of an eye. It's my favorite breakfast spot!

Another good place to eat, especially breakfast. I've been going there for years. Never a bad meal and always have had good service. Give them a try if you've never been there. I don't think you will be disappointed. Reasonable prices too.

We had a group of 8 on a Sunday after church....they worked very hard to accommodate us and the food was delicious the wait staff was very attentive...

Disappointing. Link sausage saving grace of the meal, delicious. Biscuit of biscuits and gravy were overcooked and the texture was off-putting, gravy was a bit sweet. Sourdough toast was enjoyable. Scrambled eggs were overcooked, sunny-side-up eggs under done. Panfried hash browns were average. Raspberry tea was also very good. The service was excellent, our server was friendly and efficient, knew her stuff! Will not be returning.

Several mistakes on order placed. Scrambled eggs soggy, bacon overcooked and tasteless, pancake literally inedible as it was hard and flat. Returned pancake new one better texture but still flavorless. Also Restaurant does not offer real butter. Margarine spreads should never be the only option. They taste horrible.

This was just damn good eating.It could have been an IHOP or truckstop but it was Gebby's.The server was one of the most gracious and knew the menu well. I had chicken fried steak and eggs. Whoever was in the kitchen was no slouch either!Perfect eggs. My buddy had some burger that was perfectly cooked and juicy. I don't really remember decor because my mouth and brain were full of food.Apparently, they have country gravy with or without sausage, altho why you would not want it is a mystery. If I can restraint myself from the country fried steak ever (and I probably can't), I will totally try a burger.The fries were crisp, excellent, and every item was steaming hot when we got it. Bonus Gebby's tip: breakfast or not, those fries deserve to drown in country gravy before you bite thier little heads off.Love, love, love.Very comfortable atmosphere.

Food was excellent! Restaurant was VERY busy, but all the employees still took time to chat with us like we were old friends - even though it was the first time my man & I had been there. They have daily specials Monday-Friday that change every month. Next time we go, and we WILL be back!, I'm going to bring home one of their colossal homemade cinnamon rolls! I really can't say enough about the food. Bacon, sandwiches & fries were terrific! It comes up hot & fresh & quick! Don't let the busyness of Gebby's deter you, it is worth the stop! Prices are fairly reasonable too, but, like most places, the beverages are where they make their money.

Very nice dinerI was going by other reviews being very positive and I agree. Food was good and inexpensive. Service was fast and courteous. The only downside is the atmosphere is that of an older diner, not a big deal. Definitely worth returning.

Always good. Been a while since I've been there before today. Last time (a few months ago) I walked in and observed a waitress licking her fingers/thumb to grab placemats, and then again to seperate meal tickets. Disgusted me and I left. That same day I sat in my car as I prepared to enter the restaurant, and observed 2 waitresses and a cook having a smoke. Not a healthy nor sanitary look knowing customers are consuming food cooked and served by smokers who likely bypass thoroughly washing their hands afterwards, which is required by the local County Health Department.

My new favorite restaurant for breakfast. I had the Hearty Breakfast after a long Saturday morning group run, perfect!

I’m an health inspector I came to do an surprise inspection but everything is closed but their hours of operation say other wise definitely contacted the owner to no avail do not recommend what if I was a paying customer this level of service is unacceptable I understand Covid -19 hours but please post updated hours of operation!!!!! -2 stars

Food Quality is ridiculously amazing! I felt like I was eating in my Grandparents kitchen. I definitely would reccomend this restuarant to anyone looking for a place to eat that's not a chain restaurant!

Staff is very friendly, and also very quick to make sure you get refills when needed. The food is very tasty and you get large portions for a little money. If you like biscuits and gravy, definitely go there. You can even purchase the sausage gravy by itself so during the week you can make your own biscuits and gravy at home. Also there kids meals are large portions, especially the 🥞.

The most wholesome breakfast experience you can find in Peoria. The cinnamon rolls and sausage links are out of this world (along with everything else).

I went there with a friend for breakfast. The place offers a very friendly atmosphere and good service. You can tell the staff knows what they are doing. My meal was very good, hot and plenty of food. The décor is simple, though a little dated, but they concentrate on good food which is why you go. I don't know why I haven't been there more often. It's a little easy to overlook on the busy road it's on, and you have to park and go in the back but that's fine. It's a great restaurant and I definitely recommend it!

Every time we come back, the service is top notch, food cooked to perfection. A good value knowing this as you walk in. Regulars get that extra service while interacting with staff.

Had the opportunity to visit around 09:00,place was packed,surprisingly and we would have waited,we got into a booth relatively fast.Steak was seasoned wonderfully, grits kinda kulmpy,overall food was fantastic( taste) wise,I asked for a med-well steak it arrived well done,taste made up for it.I definitely recommend Gebby's will be back to visit again.Service was on point,my waitress arrived with water and continously checked in on us.

I went there this morning for breakfast. It's a nice family restaurant. Not super fancy but big portions of good food. Waitresses and owner are all very friendly and give great service. It was crowded at 10am so maybe go earlier or later on Sundays. I imagine its not so crowded on weekdays. I had a Denver omelet and hash browns and bacon. It was very good. My friend and her mother split the hearty breakfast and enjoyed it especially the biscuits and gravy. Our waitress was very attentive even though the place was packed. Good prices especially for the serving sizes.
